Meet the Speakers
- Nick Carrey
- Nick joined Hawkins in 2012 after a 27-year career with the London Fire Brigade, spending 16 years as a full-time Fire Investigation Officer. A Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI) and Chartered Forensic Practitioner (Fire), he earned a PhD from the University of Strathclyde for his research on fire and electrical circuits. He contributed to key UK fire investigation guidelines and has extensive experience in fire and electrical examinations worldwide, including shipping and superyacht incidents. Nick has also advised on firefighting for maritime cases and played a key role in judicial guidance on fire investigation evidence
- Adam Holloway
- Adam Holloway is a Certified Fire Investigator with Travelers Insurance, specializing in vessel and marina fire investigations. He has been conducting fire investigations for the insurance industry since 2005 and has been with Travelers’ Fire Investigation Team since 2008. As a director, he oversees the internship and specialist programs within the Forensic Fire Investigation Team. Holloway holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire, Arson, and Explosion Investigation from Eastern Kentucky University and is certified through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).
- Bill Nolan
- Bill Nolan has specialized in fire and explosion origin and cause investigations since 1990. A Certified Fire, Explosion, Vehicle, and Marine Investigator, he has led numerous test burns and live fire demonstrations for the IAAI’s Marine Fire Investigation program, where he is a primary instructor and key contributor. He has investigated marine-related fire incidents worldwide, including on freighters, commercial and recreational vessels, terminals, and marinas. Since 2011, he has owned and operated Fire Origin & Cause Unlimited Services, Inc. in Holbrook, NY.
