Arsonist Case Studies

Ed is an Author, Profiler/Case Analyst, Expert Witness on Arson/Bomb

related issues.  He is a specialist in Fire Death Scene Analysis and Review.  He is a retired Investigator, Bomb Tech and Detective, and Arson/Bomb Profiler for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Dept.  He was a Detective from 1990-2019 and on the Arson/Explosives Detail since 1997.

March 3- Darren Solomon

Report Writing

Darren Solomon is a Senior Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) based in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Solomon has worked for the ATF for 20 years, serving seven of those years as a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) certified by ATF and the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).  He is also a member of ATF’s National Response Team and has been designated as Lead CFI on multiple responses.

March 4- Michael Abraham

Lithium Batteries   

Michael G. Abraham, PE is a licensed electrical engineer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Michael works at the ATF Fire Research Laboratory located in the Washington, D.C. metro area. 

He provides forensic engineering support to Federal, State, and Local investigative entities on electro-mechanical engineering matters as they pertain to the origin and cause of fires and explosions. Michael also responds as a member of the ATF National Response Team (NRT).
